Start your morning on the water as the sun peaks over Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The ocean water is calm and placid, with just enough wind to push you along the coast line. Watch for Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, monk seals, migrating humpback whales during the winter months, and other marine life. Relax on deck or take your hand at the helm, Captain Ralph loves to share all his expert knowledge about sailing and the ocean. The Kohala Coast offers a plethora of snorkeling destinations. Stop at one of the moorings in the Waialea Bay Marine Life Conservation District or head North toward secluded and protected coves as you enjoy fresh local fair and refreshments. Explore Hawaiis’ ancient reefs growing atop lava flows and consisting of many colorful inhabitants. Look for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu) as they often come to be cleaned by yellow tang. Once back on board enjoy local fruits, light refreshments, or a fresh meal. as you sail along with the incoming trade winds. Enjoy stories and local history or find a quiet spot at the bow and get lost in the spectacular views, ocean air, and lull of the waves.
